Ok, I don't know about the rest of you, but I had no idea what the heck a "magic lantern" was.
So I looked it up:

| Yeah, Danvers PC's are the first (possibly only) one's I've seen that can go into the $80-$100 range.

| A Byberry was the highest selling PC I ever seen. It went for like $114 or something to that effect.

I have 5 Danvers cards and most cost me over $50 with one being $70. I'd say that Danvers and Greystone go for the most out of all the hospital PCs i've seen. I once saw a double postcard for danvers go for $133! It's always someone named g**g

While I would love to own another Danvers or Norwich I'm not willing to pay over $15 for a postcard.
Personally, I cannot understand why Danvers postcards/stuff go so high. While I do remember that one woman who was spending outrageous amounts of money for anything/everything DSH, I don't see why the price is still high?

| I always figured it was explorers bidding up those cards since they were/are kinda famous and risky abandonments. But they are rare cards in general, so it could be a bit of all the above.

| I bought a double Davners PC for around $50, and I later say one go for $114 (probably the same one you saw. The craziest one I saw was the most recent Danvers PC that was made. I paid $0.85 for it and 2 weeks later that Kaba lady paid $87 for the same card!

| Does anyone know who that lady is? Is she buying for a museum collection or is she just really really like Danvers?

| I know her. Her name is Karen B. I believe she lives in Mass. She buys for her personal collection, which is not limited to just PC's. In Chris Payne's last book he used a lot of her PC images. As far as I know she has some sort of connection to Danvers (and Mass. state hospitals in general) and a large bank acct.! If I see her bid on something I just don't bother anymore. I think she must put like $500 bids or something, as if she's the high bidder I've never been able to outbid her!

| The same seller has listed a lot more of those magic lantern slides. Some of the newest ones he has listed for $199.00. See them all here. Some of the new interior ones are pretty awesome, especially the x-ray machine.

I saw the latest prices & almost had a minor stroke, the hell?!? Maybe it's just me but no way they're worth that, especially in this economy.
If you wanted to make a photo from them you would have to find a good camera shop/processor to give you an idea by looking a them in person. There probably aren't a lot of places you could have it done. Try asking the seller, they might know.
