I thought there was a thread on here about asylum related books but I can't find it so I'm starting this.

What I'm doing is posting by list of books that I own. The one's with a "*" indicate ones that I have read. I can give a review if asked or answer any questions anyone else has about any of the books.

Here are the books in my personal collection:

I think we had a list on the old forum. I don't really read annual reports that closely, most tend to be pretty cut & dry with lots of numbers & statistics to impress politicians. The really old ones sometimes had more interesting narratives though, but they're harder to find.

Some good books you've listed. I'll add some when I get a chance this weekend.

Most of what you guys listed I've read or haven't but thanks to you guys I've got to go on a buying spree and stock my liberty with more books.

I'm not sure either what happened to that post, but here is our book category of every institution entry that's got a book: Category:Asylum Books

My collection is small compared to those, but it has still managed to exceed the space I have to store it. Time to hit up Ikea for some new book shelves!

I just found the book "Phychiatric Architecture" published in 1959 by the APA. Its neat to see the thinking for why buildings of that period were built as they were.

Nice find, I'll have to try and track that one down and take a gander.
