I was watching this weeks Featured Video and I happen to see a recommended video on the YouTube page. It's a video done showing that the world of the State Schools thirty years ago in America is still going on outside of America's borders. That the mentally handicapped are still locked up and abused.

I'll let the video tell you more:

Forgotten People was shot by WITNESS partner Mental Disability Rights International (MDRI), and is narrated by Susan Sarandon. It documents the inhumane conditions faced by individuals with mental disabilities situated in grossly understaffed, inadequate and neglectful psychiatric facilities around the world.

It's disturbing to see that this is still going on. Plus, it gives those of us who research the history of State Schools a better idea of what went on in these institutions.
