Looks great! I haven't had time to read them yet. But after I do, I look forward the your next project here.
Edit: Was Central Islip the first Long Island hospital they sent the patients too? I forgot which one was built first and which one was the first to receive the overflow from the city?

Actually the Long Island Hospital, later the Brooklyn Hospital, began sending patients to their new farm branch at Kings Park, then St Johnland, in 1885, separating into a separately administered entity in 1900, instead of a satellite of the Long Island Hospital.
The NYC Asylum system did not begin work on buildings at Central Islip until 1886, so Kings Park I believe has the title of first asylum on Long Island.

Yeah, that was surely one of the nicest asylum staircases of all time.
Blackwells has me on a NYC role now.
I need to do the NYC Inebriate Asylum
NYC Homeopathic Hospital (Now metropolitan Hospital)
NYC Insane Asylum Harts Island
NYC Asylum Wards Island
The state immigrant hospital on wards island.
There are so many and they all switched or moved to tons of buildings, its confusing. Apparently the Inebriate Asylum closed and the Homeopathic hospital took over the building but then when the Blackwells asylum closed they swapped buildings so they moved to blackwells and the insane hospital took over their building on wards. Etc.

The I redid this page, it originally had them all as the same hospital.

Wow Soldat! Amazing work on finding all the pictures of Manhattan! Where in the world did you find all those? I have done some searches in the past and only came up with what was originally on the page (not much).
Manhattan probably would have been an amazing hospital to see in person, it looks like it was extremely ornamental. Too bad it was ruined by a stupid bridge. Isn't it funny how all asylums were built (at the time) seemingly far far away from cities and yet they still get taken over eventually. This one was built on a freaking island and it still couldn't escape the deadly grasp of the city.
I added category tags at to the page as well. Soldat, this is what I was referring to when we discussed the Terminology page, by placing the tags this page will not show up automatically in the Kirkbride and Cottage Plan category pages.

I looked all over the internet and it tons of old books to dig up the pretty confusing history of the place.
The images also came from all over. The easy ones to find were of the former Inebriate/Homeopathic hospital and the Emigrant Complex buildings that were annexed. Actual images of the original Kirbride were really had to find.
The bottom two there show the kirkbride. Besides the ones we already had that was about all could find. I would love a detailed image of the admin.

Nice! I added the Snake Hill documentary trailer to the page as well. Did a quick search for the actual film, it's not on Netflix. If anyone comes across it I would like to see it.
Here is the Snake Hill trailer on YouTube

Yeah man good work. I like to see new stuff put up and new hospital pages made.
I just got rid of the St Vincent State Hospital page and made one for the St Vincent Institution. It turns out it never was a state hospital but was private until it closed. Such a beautiful and overlooked kirkbride.
