Yeah, Patton is one I am really sad we cannot find a sanborn or map of. Its kirkbrideish for sure but its so hard to say from the pictures exactly what the place was. It has so many turrets and shapes and nonsense its hard to really tell. Awesome pictures Squad, I looked everywhere and never saw those! By far the best view of the hospital.

Patton State Hospital was a Kirk. It had wings that extended out like a "V" with a central admin building. Many features of the building from it's design, its gardens, and it's internal design followed Dr. Kirkbride's contruction. The patient's occuipied the top floor and had a capacity of 200 patients. The hallways were double loaded and the single loaded in it's outer wings.

Do you have any book or photos to support what you are saying so we can know for sure? I would love to see them!

Another factor to consider is that the Kirk was down by the 1920's due to two earthquaks. It was EST.1890 and was completed in the early 1900's. Therefore, it didn't have much time to grow and expand. The hospital swithed to the cottage plan after the Kirk fell. The hospital is still open and is probably the largest forensic hospital in country today.
