I contacted the state of PA for information regarding my grandfather who was sent to Farview after murdering his mother-in-law. He died there (well in a local hospital) as well. Any thoughts were if there is another place to look for information?
Thanks! Lori

When was he sent there?
You could probably contact Farview itself as it was transferred from a Criminally Insane Hospital to a regular prison. Somebody there could possibly refer you.
If you are the next of kin you can probably get information.

| I agree with Soldat. If it wasn't too long ago there is a good chance the records are still at the institution. HERE is a link to the PA Corrections website and HERE is a link to specific info on Waymart (as it's called now). I'm not sure now getting records from a state correctional facility might differ from a state hospital but contacting them direct is probably the best place to start.

Thomas,
I don't know why i didn't think to suggest it, but I bet if this person contact the PA library system there would be paper coverage of the murder/murder investigation. A death in jail probably wouldn't but the paper might also have an obituary from the time for both people.

Getting Bacl

I have contacted the state years ago...and they said they have nothing...that all the records have been destroyed or lost.
I have the records from the trial.
I am pulling a straws at this point....
Thanks! Lori
