Any Updates on Worcester?

So why are they tearing it down again? its a danger to the road in to the hospital or something? How hard would it be to just build a road further away? Im sure cheaper too.

PD you make some really good points. The sad fact is that we as "Kirkbride Fans" are just going to have to learn to live with very low expectations. The design, layout, and floor plan of Kirkbrides is extremely outdated and pretty much useless in the present day.

As you mentioned the situation at Travers City is probably the best. There are also some hospitals that I'd classify as "works in progress" like Buffalo, Weston, Fergus Falls, and St. Elizabeths where it will be very interesting to see how the final product turns out. Other than that we'll just have to deal with the high mortality rate of original Kirkbrides and keep them alive with photos, old post cards, and internet sites like this one.

I'm rather annoyed at how quickly it seems the preservation Worcester group jumped onto the "monument" wagon. Until the first brick is knocked out of the admin they should still be trying to save it (IMO).

I absolutely love to look at the Facebook photos that are being posted of the restored Buffalo kirk. If I were someone in an administration position at Worcester I would much rather have my office in the classic interior of a kirk admin than in that ugly monstrosity that they have built.
