Not sure if any of you have been up to date with the construction at St. E's, but I found a lot of stuff last night.

http://blogs.federaltimes.com/federal-times-blog/2011/01/17/st-elizabeths-hospital-project...

watch that video, and go to 15 seconds - the new Coast Guard Headquarters is directly up against the kirkbride! I found that very interesting, I guess they are gonna have the DOHS connect into the Coast Guard's.

I also read that the kirkbride construction will begin in 2014 and should be done by 2016.

These are renderings of what they want to do with the Kirk:

Nice! Ethan and I were just talking about St. Elizabeths. I'd love to see some before/during/after photos but I'm sure we never will for security reasons!

Not to be too big a stickler or anything but FWIW there is no "'" in St. Elizabeths name, the actual name is Elizabeths with the "s" on the end.

The GSA development website has a bunch of construction pictures including a few of them stabilizing the power plant, as well as conceptual drawings of the Coast Guard Headquarters: http://www.stelizabethsdevelopment.com/

Thanks for posting this PD. That is a pretty great website they have put together. I'm quite impressed with the amount of buildings they are restoring. They certainly are not penny pinching this project.
