I'm working on a history of this hospital established in 1896 as The Second Hospital for the Insane in Maryland, later called Springfield State Hospital, now called Springfield Hospital Center. I'd appreciate any bits of information anyone may have about SHC, such as former employees or anyone who may have a connection with it in some way. Photos, other artifacts... Thanks.

If you don't already have this book I would suggesting getting it. Other than that there is a dedicated website for the hospital. Artifacts and original photos are probably still being kept somewhere at the hospital since it is still active. Your best bet might be a visit in person if you are not too far away.

Sykesville hospital, Maryland
I am looking for information regarding two residents of Sykesville (mother and daughter). They were my grandmother and greatgrandmother. Is there any way to find out about specific individuals?

I would start here (see below) - you can also try checking census records. If you know why they were there or can give a better time line on when you are looking at them having been there, that would also help.
