Found this British documentary done by BBC-4 last year. It appears to be mostly about the post-WW2 years and the asylums there, pretty interesting so far.

Unfortunately I cant find any of it left on Youtube, guess the lawyers took care of it. You could try the BBC site, it doesn't work for those of us in the US.
