| Looking for records or information on my Great Uncle that was in the above institution in the 1930 and 1940 census, his name was Frank Joseph Prakope. Would like to know when he was admitted and what the reason was. I live in Missouri and don't even know where or how to go about obtaining information, Thanks!!!

NY State archives has patient records from 1920-1956 for that facility. I don't think they consider it to be under HIPPA since it was a correctional facility and technically not a state hospital. Here's the link;
