Ground Breaking Shovel
A couple of years back I got one of the ground breaking shovels from Wernersville State Hospital, that and the gold graduation ring from the Danvers State Hospital (actually says that around the top of the ring) are just a few of the artifacts I have collected over the years. BOB

Here is an old soap dispenster I restored from Victor Cullen Sanitarium. It now is back to being useful in my mothers bathroom.

More good stuff everyone! Sadly most of these items get thrown out when a hospital closes or does renovations. I recently found out a retired long-time employee from a state hospital in Indiana died and his kids threw out tons of items & paperwork, they said it was "clutter". Makes you wonder how often that happens, actually I'd rather not think about it!

There was an unofficial patch put out by the firehouse (Engine 49) after they closed the old station in 1951 at Byberry and moved to their current location. This retired firefighter might have photos as well but he's not positive.

Thanks. Had an interesting eBay bidding war for the Springfield patch. I had a small war with someone a few hours before the end which I was the winner of. I increased my max bid to what I was comfortable with spending and walked away for the night and let things to fate. As it turned out the other person did a last second bid to try and get the patch and they bidded the exact same amount that I set as my max bid. And I won. So I guess eBay considers the first bidder the winner should someone else place the same bid. Never had this happen before.

The nearest hosptial where I live is Chattahoochee around 150 miles away. But I don't think they sale artifacts and antiques, but I checked ebay and most of it is postcards, maps and prints.

I could run a classified ad, but we have a couple of small mental health clinics in town where I live and they might discard some of their items to receive new ones.
