Opened in 1907 for the treatment of mild TB cases, this facility was bought by the state in 1921. Sometime after the sale, the facility was merged with the Muirdale Sanatorium campus and the Blue Mound Sanatorium was converted into a Preventorium for the treatment and monitoring of children that may have been exposed to TB.
