History[edit]

The Fair Oaks Villa Sanitarium was a facility for "mental and nervous disorders." The site of the institution has changed significantly due to the city's growth but according to the 1921 Akron Plat Map the building's campus was between Tallmadge Street and Pine Street where they both met Newberry Street in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Originally known as the Newberry house, it was built by Henry Newberry, one of Cuyahoga Falls founding citizens.
