| − | The earliest Jay County home was established in 1836. The current county home dates from 1895 and since 1984 has been a retirement facility. The Neo-Jacobean main building is constructed in a T-plan with the superintendent’s residence in the front and the two wings extending out from the back. At one point in time the property included the main building, a basement barn, a hay feeder, hay barn, garage, tool shed, blacksmith shop, slaughterhouse, chicken coop, windmill, and cemetery.
