History

Finney General Hospital was a U.S. Army hospital in Thomasville, Georgia, that operated from June 1943 to December 1945, treating 23,055 soldiers during World War II. Named for Brig. Gen. John M. T. Finney, it featured over 200 buildings, including specialized wards and prisoner-of-war barracks, with several structures still remaining.

Of the 19 buildings on the campus, eight are occupied. DBHDD leases two buildings to Georgia Pines Community Service Board and the Georgia Department of Community Supervision.
