History
The Daviess County Home was located about three miles north of Washington, Indiana. The two story brick building with a basement and attic was built in 1864. It was operated by the Daviess County Commissioners from 1866 to 2005 and provided housing for indigent persons. It was first known as the Daviess County Poor Asylum and later the Daviess County Home and Farm. The facility now serves as a residential drug rehabilitation program for men called Lighthouse Recovery Home. [1]
